Where to go from here or my dating life?

Today reading an article my neighbor pointed out in the New York Times and another from yesterdays Seattle newspaper brought me to starting this blog. Below is a snippet from NYTimes article, the Seattle article was about the internet. After reading these I realized I was not as connected as I would like.

Facing Middle Age With No Degree, and No Wife
By EDUARDO PORTER and MICHELLE O’DONNELL
Once, virtually all Americans had married by their mid-40’s. Now, many American men without college degrees find themselves still single as they approach middle age.
About 18 percent of men ages 40 to 44 with less than four years of college have never married, according to census estimates.

I am in the demographic mentioned in the article. Though I have a decent and steady job, am well thought of and considered reasonably good looking, marriage has eluded me. Certainly I can't say I have put any focus on the issue in the past but I am now wondering whether I want to or should consider why or why not?
It is time to look at my dating pactices or lack there of, to clarify any tendencies that help or hurt the situation. I will post as I encounter women and hopefully create insight into my personal perspective and interactions with others.
